Things To Do

On the farm

You're more than welcome to while away your days on the farm, reading a good book, enjoying the scenery and taking it all in. But if you feel like meeting the animals or helping out in the market garden, then please let us know and we'd be happy to have you involved.

Walks

We are very well-placed for exploring the local countryside on foot, with a public footpath and bridleway running directly through the farm.  Within a couple of miles are scenic walks around Bridford village itself, over to our local Tor and down to Kennick and Tottiford reservoirs, all of which provide good opportunities for wildlife-spotting.  Following the River Teign upstream from Bridford Wood will take you through spectacular wooded valleys, eventually leading to the lovely Fingle Bridge, and the National Trust site of Castle Drogo. The Teign Valley is also very popular with cyclists, and provides great scenic rides both on and off-road.

Pubs

Most of the Teign Valley villages have good pubs, and there is some great local food on offer. The Bridford Inn is a short walk down the track (just over half a mile), whilst the Artichoke Inn, Teign House Inn, Nobody Inn and Manor Inn are all within a few miles. Local taxis will be happy to pick you up and drop you off.

Day trips and activities

If you want to explore a bit further afield, we're happy to give advice and recommendations to help you plan an occasional day trip - the farm is about an hour's drive from the north and south coasts, and all the wonders of Dartmoor are within easy reach.
