Getting Here

Getting Here

The farm is about 9 miles outside Exeter, only about twenty minutes' drive from the end of the M5.

Trains

Exeter is well served by direct trains from all over the country, including Bristol, Birmingham, Sheffield and Manchester, as well as London Paddington and London Waterloo (the Waterloo trains are slower but often cheaper, especially if you book in advance). A taxi from the station to the farm should cost about £25.

Buses

The No. 360 Country Bus service stops right outside Exeter Central and Exeter St Thomas train stations (but not Exeter St Davids) and takes you directly to Bridford Village, with services at 1-2 hourly intervals through the day. If you are arriving in Bridford by bus, we will be happy to give you a lift from the bus stop to the farm with your luggage (unless you prefer the walk, which takes about 20 minutes). Please contact us beforehand to arrange this.

The No. 360 bus timetable can be viewed here (it also includes a full list of all stops, beneath the timetable).

For journey planning, Traveline South West is very useful, and allows you to input departure stations outside the South West: www.travelinesw.com

Cycling

If you want to bring your bike on the train it's about a 9 mile ride to the farm from Exeter. Though if you're not an experienced cyclist please be warned there are fast roads and steep climbs along the way.

Car

If you are coming by car you can plan your own route using our postcode - EX6 7HU - or by searching for "whippletree farm devon" in Google Maps. Please be aware that some satnavs may take you to a different road that shares our postcode - please make sure you keep going all the way through Bridford and follow the track that runs directly past the Bridford Inn (the farm is at the end of this track, about half a mile past the pub). If you would like more detailed driving instructions, please contact us.
